joined the Hometown Broadcasting team in June 2018. Gina is
the producer and on-air host of the morning hometown talk
show"Community Corner," here at WNXT Radio on AM 1260 and
first radio show experience was at age 16, when she hosted
a weekend countdown show. She created her own Top 20 Countdown
show emulating her favorite media personality Casey Casem.
Gina fell in love with communications work and went on to
study journalism and writing, while also pursuing a music
career travelling the world with her composer husband Larry
Collinsworth working on cruise ships and performing.
many years and gigs later, and in June 2018, Gina got the
call to join WNXT's Community Corner Show. She has since been
producing, booking, and interviewing guests every Monday through
Friday. She estimates that since hosting the show, she has
interviewed well over 600 guests! These amazing guests are
people ranging from authors, musicians, community activists,
non-profit leaders, volunteers, Hollywood stars, government
officials, first responders, teachers, event coordinators,
athletes, and the most exciting of all - friends! Gina cannot
stress enough how big of an honor it is to continue the platform
that Barb Pratt started with the purpose of sharing the good
news from our community.
a public relations and content creator by trade with two degrees;
her first degree is a B.A. in English from Shawnee State University,
and in 2010, she returned to college to earn a Master's degree
in English, Professional Writing and Editing from the University
what she likes the most about working in radio is sharing
the good news and positivity that lifts people up and keeps
them informed. This supports the people of our area who are
doing good things and produces a snowball effect.
radio moment was an interview with her mom Sandra Hall and
longtime friend Carol Caudill. She says, "The "Moms Show"
was so much fun to do! I had my Mom come in and our friend
Carol Caudill come in with her to talk about family traditions,
Thanksgiving Dinner and cooking tips. These two ladies are
great cooks, and I think listeners enjoyed that show because
we laughed a lot. I know I enjoyed it!"
